# **REMNANT: The Ones God Preserves for His Purpose** *"Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations when you are scattered through the countries."* — **Ezekiel 6:8** ## What Is a Remnant? Throughout Scripture, the word **"remnant"** refers to a group of people whom God preserves for Himself. They are not necessarily the strongest, the richest, or the most popular. Instead, they are those who remain faithful to God when the world chooses compromise. A remnant is not defined by numbers but by obedience. In every generation, God has always reserved people who refuse to bow to the culture around them. While the majority may walk away from His truth, the remnant remains steadfast, holy, and surrendered. ## God's Pattern Throughout the Bible The story of the Bible repeatedly reveals God's faithfulness in preserving a remnant. * During the flood, God preserved **Noah** and his family to begin a new generation (Genesis 6–9). * When Israel turned to idolatry, God reminded **Elijah** that He had preserved **7,000** who had not bowed to Baal (1 Kings 19:18). * After the exile, God brought back a faithful remnant to rebuild Jerusalem and restore worship. * The New Testament continues this theme, showing that God always preserves those who truly belong to Him. As **Romans 11:5** says: > "So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace." God raises a remnant to: * Preserve His truth. * Reveal His glory. * Call nations back to repentance. * Restore true worship. * Prepare the way for revival. History shows that revival has often begun with a small group of people completely surrendered to God. ## Are You Part of the Remnant? Being part of God's remnant is not about belonging to a particular church or denomination. It is about belonging completely to Christ. Ask yourself: * Do I stand for truth even when it costs me? * Do I pursue holiness daily? * Do I hunger for God's presence more than worldly success? * Am I willing to obey God even when no one else does? God is not looking for perfection—He is looking for surrender. ## A Call to This Generation We live in a generation filled with distraction, compromise, and spiritual confusion. Yet God is still calling people to rise as His remnant. He is raising worshippers instead of performers. He is raising disciples instead of spectators. He is raising servants instead of celebrities. The remnant may be small in number, but they are mighty in purpose. ## Final Encouragement God has always preserved a remnant, and He continues to do so today. If you remain faithful, walk in holiness, and keep your eyes fixed on Christ, you become part of the story God is writing in this generation.
